Enemy attacks

The enemy will make you feel inadequate, he will tell you that you won't succeed. He will say things like, what makes you think God is going to provide for your family.

It is our choice to say My God is bigger than that. My God is bigger than finances. My God is bigger than my next job. My God is bigger than anything that comes between me and my salvation.

If someone or somthing wants to attack me I say bring it, through God we will slaugter Anything that comes. Just like in Numbers.

     Philippians 4:13 (New Living Translation)

13 For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.

In a Fight - Mark

Numbers 21:22-25
"Let us pass through your country. We will not turn aside into any field or vineyard, or drink water from any well. We will travel along the king's highway until we have passed through your territory." But Sihon would not let Israel pass through his territory. He mustered his entire army and marched out into the desert against Israel. When he reached Jahaz, he fought with Israel. Israel, however, put him to the sword and took over his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, but only as far as the Ammonites, because their border was fortified. Israel captured all the cities of the Amorites and occupied them, including Heshbon and all its surrounding settlements.

I will have to fight battles while I am wandering in the wilderness.

Satan will pick a fight with me, even when I am trying to stay out of trouble.

Jesus, help me to walk in righteousness and pick up a sword to slay the enemy.

Eat to Live - Mark

Numbers 20:2-5
Now there was no water for the community, and the people gathered in opposition to Moses and Aaron. They quarreled with Moses and said, "If only we had died when our brothers fell dead before the LORD! Why did you bring the LORD's community into this desert, that we and our livestock should die here? Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to this terrible place? It has no grain or figs, grapevines or pomegranates. And there is no water to drink!"

God has gotten me out of the Army, and now He has to get the Army out of me.

I have learned through fasting this week that I need to eat to live, and not live to eat.

Thanks for the prayer support. We had a great meeting, and I expect to hear something next week.

Numbers 18:7 - Seth

"The work of the priesthood is my exclusive gift to you, it cannot be
delegated."

When Jesus paid the final price for sin he made all of us who believe
in him priest. Making this verse applicable to us. Only you can be
the priest of your home. You can't delegate it to your wife, children
or even Pastor. You are a priest. Cover everything in the blood of
Jesus and lead your family well today.

4 days down 36 to go! Don't give up! Expect an encounter!

Ted you better blog today! Or I am coming after you tonight while you
are asleep. Who's with me?

Tony and Mike and Eric - Thanks for the prayer at Encounter last night.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you TRUST in him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the POWER of the Holy Spirit. Rom 15:13

Give Him the Best - Mark

Numbers 18:30-32
"Tell the Levites, When you offer the best part, the rest will be treated the same as grain from the threshing floor or wine from the wine vat that others give. You and your households are free to eat the rest of it anytime and anyplace—it's your wages for your work at the Tent of Meeting. By offering the best part, you'll avoid guilt, you won't desecrate the holy offerings of the People of Israel, and you won't die."

Jesus, I am ready to give you the first fruits, the best portion of my harvest.

13 He climbed a mountain and invited those he wanted with him. They climbed together.

Fasting as a family is going great, we are just begining to get back into a place of communicating. I am excited to see how much closer to my wife I will be. The hardest part is manning up to the fact that I have not been doing it right no matter how good I thought I was. I pray I will submit, to my wife, to God, his plan, and nothing less than what He has for us.

Prayer Request - Mark

I have an important meeting with a large company tomorrow. Executives are flying in to meet with our team and start contract negotiations. This is a deal that has been in progress for more than 15 months, and this is the company that sent me to Tanzania. Please pray that God would open this door or slam it shut.

First Fruits from the Promised Land - Mark

Numbers 15:17-21
The LORD said to Moses, "Speak to the Israelites and say to them: 'When you enter the land to which I am taking you and you eat the food of the land, present a portion as an offering to the LORD. Present a cake from the first of your ground meal and present it as an offering from the threshing floor. Throughout the generations to come you are to give this offering to the LORD from the first of your ground meal.

Jesus, thank you for slaying the giants and bringing me into the promised land. I commit the first fruits to you and to your kingdom.

Jonathan

'Come and dine, Come and dine, Come and dine the Master calleth, come and dine.
'He who fed the multitudes, turned the water into wine......'
'You may feast and Jesus' table anytime!!!'

I was sitting in between my boys as they ate flautas and this song was calling me to 'come and get it', what I needed and wanted from Jesus.

Be encouraged guys, we can fill up anytime if we will.

Authority- Michael

Numbers 12;
Miriam and Aaron question Moses authority to marry Cushite women and angers our Lord, Miriam is struck with Leprosy for this. God told them that Moses was his chosen representative and that he spoke directly to him and no other like that.

Mark 2;
Jesus's authority is questioned by the Pharisee's and Scribes, for the action he takes with his people and the works he performs to minister to them. In this our Lord is patient with his people and uses parables to effect his authority over them.

Our flesh will contest the will of God for us, but if our spirit controls the flesh then as our authority over it demands we submit to the authority of our Lord God. For those of us who have undertaken the task of fasting, the flesh will contest this.

I pray that we will be strong in spirit to rebuke the flesh and be faithful to this task set before us as men of our households and may the Lord find favor in our obedience.

Big Grapes - Seth

Numbers 13:25-30

When they arrived at the Eshcol Valley they cut off a branch with a single cluster of grapes—it took two men to carry it—slung on a pole...After forty days of scouting out the land, they returned home.

27-29 "We went to the land to which you sent us and, oh! It does flow with milk and honey! Just look at this fruit! The only thing is that the people who live there are fierce, their cities are huge and well fortified. Worse yet, we saw descendants of the giant Anak...

30 Caleb interrupted, called for silence before Moses and said, "Let's go up and take the land—now. We can do it."

During these next 40 days prepare me to slay some giants.  I am hungry for those huge grapes in the promiseland!

A Glimpse of the Promised Land - Mark

Numbers 13:21-25
So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo Hamath. They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.

God exceeded the expectations of the the spies. They has expected to find small grapes, but God had provided huge grapes for the Israelites.

I believe that God will use the next 40 days to let me into the promised land and get a glimpse of His promise. I have been asking for small grapes, but He has huge grapes waiting for me. It may take me years to fight off the giants, and posses the land entirely, but His promises are sound. Motorola and Cisco should watch out, because God is on my side fighting these battles on my behalf.

Many people around me are watching my struggle and try to feed human wisdom into the problem. This only introduces doubt into the situation. It is my job to stand up, declare God's promise, and take possession of the land. I am so excited about my encounter in the next 39 days.

Day 1 Jesus 1 - Enemy 0 - Booya!

Today the enemy attacked me with feeling inadequate as a filmmaker.  I was able to identify the attack and Jesus gave me Philippians 4:13 to fight back, "I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me!"  This morning Jesus prepared me for this attack by giving Mark 1:12 "...he was tested by Satan."  Jesus is preparing me to make a movie and he is starting with my confidence level so I can lead a crew again.  Thank you Jesus for encouraging me on day 1.  The score is Jesus 1 - Enemy 0 - Booya!
Mark 1:12 For forty wilderness days and nights he was tested by satan. Lord fill me with your spirit so i can pass this test.

Day 1 - Mark

Mark 1:9-13
At this time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God's Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him. Along with the Spirit, a voice: "You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life."

At once, this same Spirit pushed Jesus out into the wild. For forty wilderness days and nights he was tested by Satan. Wild animals were his companions, and angels took care of him.

Critical decision points arise in every man's life - If I am obedient and face the challenge, I will be rewarded and live a fulfilled life. If I miss the opportunity, I am left with frustration and disappointment.

Jesus started his ministry in the desert with a 40 day fast. I believe that we are already in the desert, and that Jesus will use our 40 day fast to kick off the work that He has planned for us. I am sure that Satan will try and tempt us during the next 40 days, but we have surrounded ourselves with friends for accountability and encouragement.

Our family has read this scripture together, and we have prepared for the temptation. We are expecting an amazing encounter.

PSALM 27: 11 - Michael

Today we support one of our bothers in obedience to our Lord God.
Vs. 27-11,12
11. Teach me your way, O Lord, and lead me on a level path because of my enemies.
12. Give me not up to the will of my adversaries; for false witnesses have risen against me, and they breathe out violence.

The next 40 days will be a challenging one for all of to be faithful and obedient, because we have chosen to do this freely. Temptations will come at ever turn to have us fail, so let us each one lean on the Lord for strength and guidance, in the times of struggle let our burdens be shared so we may pray for one another to complete what has been set before us.

Lord, may each one of us men be committed to fulfill this fast and be strengthened by your strength against any who seek to set stumbling blocks before us. Amen

40 day fast

Today is the first day of fasting, 39 more to go, I am excited to see what the lord has in store. Awaiting and praying for an encounter. This morning is the first day of a new life, feeling fresh and new. Praise Jesus!

Last late night snack for 40 days. Expecting an encounter!
Ted - When it comes to the things of God may I respectfully offened those in disbelief!

New perspective on the Pentatoch - Lucas

I'm blogging from church at Regal [I know!] because Pastor John made clear why we need to read Exodus, Leviticus and Numbers. It's because God was explaining how the Isrealites need to be WORSHIPERS OF GOD before even having a government, being able to farm, or anything else. They were to be priests first.

Talk about a fresh perspective! I am excited to now see what I get from the instructions God gave to some of His first priests.

So glad I went to church today!
