Pray - Seth
Recognize the attacks of the enemy and pray in authority claiming the victory.
Jesus you have defeated all who come against us. I claim 100% recovery for the Powell Family, Safety for the Bailey's and Financial Overflow for the Gilbaughs! I am expecting our business to continue to gain momentum as Chasing Daylight gets funded. Thank you Jesus for refining us so we can be the leaders you are preparing us to be.
See you in the morning!
Refined by Fire - Mark
I received a prophetic picture this morning involving a beautiful sword that was being made by a craftsman. The sword was heated in the fire and then hammered into the right shape, the imperfections beaten out by force. Each time the sword was placed into the fire and into cool water, it was made stronger, forged by the heat.
Thank you Lord for the reminder that you refine and strengthen us by fire.
Thank you Lord for the reminder that you refine and strengthen us by fire.

Luke 21:19 - Seth
"Every detail of your body and soul, even the hairs of your head, is in my care, nothing of you will be lost."
See you at The Gathering tonight at Living Water!
Selfless Service - Mark
Exodus 1:16-17, 20-21
"When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.
God uses the people considered to be the bottom of society to bring salvation. He not only saved the Israelites, but he blessed the willing servants as well. How great are the rewards of being a servant.

Luke 20 - Final Score: Jesus Undefeated
Luke 20 - Jesus vs Pharisees
This is an awesome chapter! Jesus responds and shuts down the Pharisees every time they challenge Him, throwing a few jabs in while he was on a roll. I was totally excited when reading it and dug how he was laying out the truth and in the end warned the people who the Pharisees really were.
Round 1: Jesus' authority (vs 1-8)
Jesus 1, Chief Priests/Scribes 0
Round 2: (Bonus Round) The vineyard goes to someone else! (vs 9-19)
Jesus 2, Chief Priests/Scribes 0
Round 3: Taxes (vs 20-26)
Jesus 3, Pharisees 0Round 4: Resurrection (vs 27-40)
Jesus 4, Sadducees 0
Round 5: (Bonus Round) Jesus throws down Psalm 110:1 (vs 41-44)
Jesus 5, Pharisees 0Round 6: (Double Bonus Round) Jesus rebukes the scribes (vs 45-47)
Jesus 7, Scribes 0
Jesus 7, Scribes 0
Jesus modeled the necessity of really knowing and understanding the scriptures as well as the fearlessness in standing on the truth. I know that I have not always been bold in sharing my beliefs, partly because I am not confident I can deliver the right response to challenging questions like these.
Prayer: Lord, help me understand the scriptures so I'm able to counter those that would try to entrap me.
Tough Situations - Mark
Luke 20:22-25
Tell us: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"
Tell us: Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar or not?"
He knew they were laying for him and said, "Show me a coin. Now, this engraving, who does it look like and what does it say?"
"Caesar," they said.
Jesus said, "Then give Caesar what is his and give God what is his."
Jesus faced a tough situation by answering this trick question. He was able to provide an answer without lying or sinning. How often do I feel like I need to tell people what they want to hear or sugar coat the truth?Tuesday, January 19, 2010
A Family- Michael
This is for a group of guys that their are not enough words for.
I really want to express my gratitude to you MEN and your families for your prayers this past weekend. If No-one has to experience the emotion of losing their spouse for even a split second until the rapture count the blessing. The night of Apryl's surgery their was a moment when she said goodbye to me in the words I LOVE YOU, she said this because one she meant what she said, it was unlike the normal statement we share with our spouses, because at that moment uncertain of what exactly was wrong inside she became tired quickly and resolved that if it was in GOD's timing for her to go it was OK and she said those three words, and that was it.
Apryl, is doing well and recovering great, it was not GOD's will that night she had though fell unconscious and stopped breathing for a moment, which scared me to watch this happen.
Men don't wait LOVE your wives, cherish them because the realization that they complete us hurts when you think they will never be their again.

Luke 18:1 & 8 - Seth
Jesus told them a story showing that it was necessary for them to pray consistently and never quit.
But how much of that kind of persistent faith will the Son of Man find on earth when he returns.
Economic Famine - Mark
Genesis 45:4-7
"I am Joseph your brother whom you sold into Egypt. But don't feel badly, don't blame yourselves for selling me. God was behind it. God sent me here ahead of you to save lives. There has been a famine in the land now for two years; the famine will continue for five more years—neither plowing nor harvesting. God sent me on ahead to pave the way and make sure there was a remnant in the land, to save your lives in an amazing act of deliverance. So you see, it wasn't you who sent me here but God.
When Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, they were filled with jealousy and hate. What they had done in sin, God used for good. In fact, Joseph's dreams from God pushed them over the edge.
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Genesis 45 is a reminder to me that God knows every sinful thing that we have done, and he knows every evil thing that as been done to us. I am constantly amazed that he can sew our tragedies into a testimony of His glory.
How will God use our Economic Famine to fulfill His purposes in my life?

Luke:
31-33"When the Day arrives and you're out working in the yard, don't run into the house to get anything. And if you're out in the field, don't go back and get your coat. Remember what happened to Lot's wife! If you grasp and cling to life on your terms, you'll lose it, but if you let that life go, you'll get life on God's terms.

Prosper During the Famine - Mark
Genesis 42:1-2, 15-16
The famine got worse. When they had eaten all the food they had brought back from Egypt, their father said, "Go back and get some more food." The men took the gifts, double the money, and Benjamin. They lost no time in getting to Egypt and meeting Joseph. When Joseph saw that they had Benjamin with them, he told his house steward, "Take these men into the house and make them at home. Butcher an animal and prepare a meal; these men are going to eat with me at noon."
It is too easy for us to become complacent when we prosper where we normally live. We fall into the same routines, hang out with the same friends, and continue to commit the same sins.
Many times, God has to move us to a foreign land to make us prosper during a famine. He has to break our old human habits and get us totally dependent on Him.
