Observation: The majority of Men and Women will curse God until the very end, even as they experience and ultimately die during the seven disasters as listed below in order of occurrence. Only believers will be spared.
1.) Loathsome, stinking sores
2.) The Sea will turn to blood and everything will die
3.) Rivers and Springs will turn to blood
4.) Fire from the sun will scorch men and women
5.) “The Beasts” kingdom will be destroyed
6.) The Euphrates River will dry up (Roadbed will usher in Kings from the East)
7.) Finally a huge earthquake will demolish everything on the earth and it will be DONE!
Other Observations: What is the difference between a “trumpet judgment” and a “bowl judgment”?
Answer… A trumpet judgment leaves room for repentance. A bowl judgment is final. What a statement of grace that up until the very end people are given an opportunity to be saved.
Actions: Lead in Gods ways. Don’t pursue material wealth or plant seeds for pursuing material wealth. What I mean by plant seeds is providing resources to meet people’s wants and/or unforseen wants rather than their needs. If I go into a poor persons home and, after assessing the situation, decide to bless him with a new gas BBQ rather than fixing his leaking roof I am indirectly making a statement that “life without a gas BBQ is incomplete”. Now I’m not suggesting that we never bless people with gifts, I just think we need to be mindful of the message sent when we choose material blessings related to nonnecessities over acts of service, counsel, kindness, food, etc…
If the pursuit of money and material wealth separates us from God and scripture states it will all ultimately be destroyed and it will be harder for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than for a camel to thread the eye of a needle, why not plant seed elsewhere.
Prayer: Lord, place on my heart a burden for the children of the Cambodian Orphanage. What would you have me bless them with?
