So I just have to ask, does anyone have a good understanding of what laws in the Old Testament were ment for then, but not for today? I know we aren't stoning people to death anymore, but on the other hand maybe we have just strayed from God's intentions.

Are You Crazy? - Seth
Galatians 3:3 "For only crazy people would think they could complete by their own efforts what was begun by God."

"Faith" Galatians 2:21 - Ted
"The life you see me living is not "mine," but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
Seth - I singled this verse out before I read yours. WOW.
I was delivered from bitterness today. The unloving spirit is next. Can't wait for the retreat. I'm looking forwared to getting to know Tim R. a little better.

Galatians 2:20 - Seth
"My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me."
I almost fainted today working out with Ted. Stay safe as you fast. Doors are busting open! Jesus is doing battle for us! Keep the faith! Excited for Men's Conference!
Love you guys!

For the guys
Through reading and prayer today I got a picture for all of us guys.
Imagine no matter where you are you always have an army of Jesus's
surounding you and protecting you. That is what he does after all.
What jumped out at me is that when ever we look in any direction we
always have Jesus to see through. We can try and see without him, but
it is so hard with him all around us. I encourage everyone to embrace
this and just put on your Jesus Goggles. (every day)

Money - Seth
Regarding Tithe: Deuteronomy 14:26 "You and your family can then feast in the Presence of God, your God, and have a good time."
What a great idea! Every time we drop a tithe check in the offering at church. We are going to feast as a family and remember the blessings of God. Make tithing a day of celebration instead of just a direct deposit.
Deut. 15:3 "All-Debts-Are-Canceled! God says so!"
Deut. 15:8 "You will lend to many nations but won't borrow from any."
Deut. 15:10 "Give freely and spontaneously!"
Business - Mark
Deuteronomy 15:6
For the LORD your God will bless you as he has promised, and you will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. You will rule over many nations but none will rule over you.
Dear Jesus, please help me to remember that being a Christian Business man means that I need to be a Christian first. I must be more concerned with the way I treat people who have eternal worth than I am with the business.

Frodo, eat your heart out
Observation #1
I heard reports that when the third book of the LOTR trilogy was released, people were so excited that Frodo had survived the spider attack that they tagged graffiti on the subway and made t-shirts and such that said, "He lives!"
Cool and all but boy can we do one better. Can you imagine being one of the Marys (true, it's hard enough imagining to be a woman) and on your way to prepare a ruined body being confronted by an angel and hearing him say about the one you love so much: "He is risen!" "They were alarmed" is probably a bit understated.
Observation #2
Now I know that a lot of scholars doubt that Mark wrote the last few versus of the book. However, it's still in there and there are some interesting red letters. Jesus said there are some signs that WILL follow those who believe. I claim that I will cast out demon in His name, will speak in new tongues, and will lay hands on the sick and they will recover. However, if you guys and God don't mind, I'll let you handle the snakes and drink the poison. Mark 16:17-18

Questions for you!
I am going to answer these questions this week as I fast and pray. I
think it would be awesome if we all did it this week. C'mon on!
Let's get all we can from the Lord this week.

Promised land - mark
Deuteronomy 12:8-15
Observe therefore all the commands I am giving you today, so that you may have the strength to go in and take over the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess,9 and so that you may live long in the land that the Lord swore to your forefathers to give to them and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.10 The land you are entering to take over is not like the land of Egypt, from which you have come, where you planted your seed and irrigated it by foot as in a vegetable garden.11 But the land you are crossing the Jordan to take possession of is a land of mountains and valleys that drinks rain from heaven.12 It is a land the Lord your God cares for; the eyes of the Lord your God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end. 13 So if you faithfully obey the commands I am giving you today—to love the Lord your God and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul—14 then I will send rain on your land in its season, both autumn and spring rains, so that you may gather in your grain, new wine and oil.15 I will provide grass in the fields for your cattle, and you will eat and be satisfied.
All I must do to inherit the promised land is to trust and obey. Why is that so hard?

Grace- Michael
In Deuteronomy 9 and Mark 15 Our Lord God's "GRACE" for us is shown. Moses's plea's to God first to not wipe out those he had saved from the Egyptians for their sins against him. Then in Mark 15 Jesus is persecuted, scourged and crucified for our sins. As in the Old Testament Men turned away from God because of unbelief. "GRACE" is something we do not deserve and yet he gives it to us willingly in hopes that our eyes will be fixed upon him. Let's us not turn our eyes from him, if we are burdened let us pray and lift those things to him, for he can do all things, rely not on our own understanding but his for us.
Deuteronomy 8:3 - Seth
"...so you would learn that men and women don't live by bread only; we live by every word that comes from God's mouth."
Humility - Mark
Deuteronomy 8:2-3
Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your fathers had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.Just when I think I am humble enough, God humbles me some more. Thank you Jesus for your love and gentle correction.

"Seek first the advice of my heavenly father" Mark 14, 20-21 - Ted
Scripture MSG: He said, "It's one of the Twelve, one who eats with me out of the same bowl. In one sense, it turns out that the Son of Man is entering into a way of treachery well-marked by the Scriptures—no surprises here. In another sense, the man who turns him in, turns traitor to the Son of Man—better never to have been born than do this!"
Prayer: May I be courageous in the face of the enemy.
Action: Going to Post the 10 Commandments in my home. (Powell - You are a good example!) I need a picture (Nice art painting) of the last supper for the wall near our dinning table.
Prayer: Continued strength to follow God's plan for my life rather than Gods plan for those around me. Even among Christian brothers it's just to easy to follow the path of popular opinion. May I seek first the advice of my heavenly father! Godly council is wise, but Godly counsel without the advice of the father is foolish and error prone.

Deuteronomy 6:10-12 - Seth
Deuteronomy 6:10-12 (The Message)
10-12 When God, your God, ushers you into the land he promised through your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to give you, you're going to walk into large, bustling cities you didn't build, well-furnished houses you didn't buy, come upon wells you didn't dig, vineyards and olive orchards you didn't plant. When you take it all in and settle down, pleased and content, make sure you don't forget how you got there—God brought you out of slavery in Egypt.
April and I are taking this promise for our family literally. We already have our new house picked out. C'mon Jesus, lead on!
Promised Land - Mark
Deuteronomy 6:10-12
When the LORD your God brings you into the land he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, to give you—a land with large, flourishing cities you did not build, houses filled with all kinds of good things you did not provide, wells you did not dig, and vineyards and olive groves you did not plant—then when you eat and are satisfied, be careful that you do not forget the LORD, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.
Thank you Jesus for your promises. How easy it is for me to become distracted from you when life is easy and things are good. Nothing that I do by my own hand will bring me into the promised land. Thank you for forging me with trials so that I will always remember that the promised land is a gift from you.

Wow
When I got back from the group on Sat morning I felt really good! Then I had to pick up my boys. Man is it true about Satan increasing the attacks when we are making a breakthough. Behavior issues running wild! But somehow I managed to keep my temper and have patience with the boys. It might not have changed their behavior but mine is different. Praise God for small breakthoughs. Now if I could just get some knives done and sold......... Best laid plans and all. Dan
Tony - A 2fer
I wanted to post today (Sat) but then realized it is after midnight so I guess I'll do both days real quick.
Sat: The word of the day = "Watch!"
Sun: Lots (SO many) amazing stories crammed in this chapter (Mark 14). One that I saw a bit differently this time was the annointing at Bethany (vs. 3-9). A couple of chapters ago we read about the greatest commandments. This story played out an example. Most the people were focused on the second greatest commandment, but even though it is extremely important, Jesus reminded them that the first was even more so. I focus a lot of energy on "being good" and figuring out how I might help others; and I should keep doing that but I also need to really check to see if my FIRST priority is loving on God. The best part....He's so EASY to love!
