Give us a King - Mark

1 Samuel 10:18-19
Samuel called the people to assemble before God at Mizpah. He addressed the children of Israel, "This is God's personal message to you:

"I brought Israel up out of Egypt. I delivered you from Egyptian oppression—yes, from all the bullying governments that made your life miserable. And now you want nothing to do with your God, the very God who has a history of getting you out of troubles of all sorts.

"And now you say, 'No! We want a king; give us a king!'

"Well, if that's what you want, that's what you'll get! Present yourselves formally before God, ranked in tribes and families."

Since I have struggled and failed, I find myself ready to go back into slavery. I am looking for a job and a king to rule over me. A king to fight my battles for me. Now that He has set me free, why should I go back into bondage?

2 Cornithians 10:18 - Stacy

Wow!! This verse really stood out to me today.. I just want to be honorable and to do things right in God's eyes. I want him to be proud of me and to say to me someday.. "Good job son, you did me proud"..

Share the Burden - Mark

2 Corinthians 8:9-14
You are familiar with the generosity of our Master, Jesus Christ. Rich as he was, he gave it all away for us—in one stroke he became poor and we became rich. So here's what I think: The best thing you can do right now is to finish what you started last year and not let those good intentions grow stale. Your heart's been in the right place all along. You've got what it takes to finish it up, so go to it. Once the commitment is clear, you do what you can, not what you can't. The heart regulates the hands. This isn't so others can take it easy while you sweat it out. No, you're shoulder to shoulder with them all the way, your surplus matching their deficit, their surplus matching your deficit.

I will do what I can, and I know that God has sent me brothers to share the burden. Thank you Jesus for Bible Nuts.

Seth

2 Corinthians 6:3-10 (The Message)

2 Corinthians 6

Staying at Our Post
1-10Companions as we are in this work with you, we beg you, please don't squander one bit of this marvelous life God has given us. God reminds us,
   I heard your call in the nick of time;
The day you needed me, I was there to help.
Well, now is the right time to listen, the day to be helped. Don't put it off; don't frustrate God's work by showing up late, throwing a question mark over everything we're doing. Our work as God's servants gets validated—or not—in the details. People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; when we're beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating; with pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love; when we're telling the truth, and when God's showing his power; when we're doing our best setting things right; when we're praised, and when we're blamed; slandered, and honored; true to our word, though distrusted; ignored by the world, but recognized by God; terrifically alive, though rumored to be dead; beaten within an inch of our lives, but refusing to die; immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all.

Salvation - Mark

2 Corinthians 6:1-2
As God's fellow workers we urge you not to receive God's grace in vain. For he says, "In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you." I tell you, now is the time of God's favor, now is the day of salvation.

Jesus, Thank you hearing our cry for help, and for the salvation.

A story remembered - Stacy

As I began to read Ruth this morning, I was reminded about Pastor Tom Mercer at High Desert Church in So. Cal. We attended there back in the mid 90's. He did a series on the book of Ruth and brought this story to life for me, more than I could have ever imagined. It has stuck with me ever since. So I am looking forward to reading the story this time and recreating those images. I also loved Psalm 56:1, because it's everyday life and the spiritual battle going on around us.

You Are Free To Eat!

"The fast is over you have been trained.  You are free to eat.  Now act free.  Free from money, free from work, free from food, free from a tired body, free.  Jesus paid it all.  Everything is now yours as a gift.  No more anxiety over money or anything this world may throw at you.  You are free.  Act it, speak it, live it and the natural will begin to line up with the supernatural.  Don't wait for manifestations to be free.  It is finished you are free right now.  Never go back to slavery.  Those the son sets free are free indeed."

The Lord delivered this word to me on day 41 as my kids were watching this...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-O_IQ__zwB8

This word is for every man who will claim it.

Thank you for supporting me on my fast.  I could not have done it without you guys.  I love you guys!

Be Blessed,

Seth

Don't Give Up - Mark

2 Corinthians 4:16
So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.

I may be forced into it, but I wall not quit. Thank you Jesus for giving us the gift of faith.
