Chaos - Lucas

When I was reading about Paul's interaction with the Sadducees and Pharisees the word chaos stuck in my head as I was listening to MUTEMATH recently. Don't know if any of you have heard their music, but one song is all about knowing God's promise and returning to that promise when things start breaking down around us.

The whole song is rad, but here's the chorus:

I know you stay true when my world is false

everything around’s breaking down to chaos

I always see you when my sight is lost

everything around’s breaking down to chaos

Paul's life was spinning into chaos. But he knew that God would stay true to His word, and that emboldened him. His sights were on God's will.

When the world starts crumbling around us and we feel like we are losing control, it seems to me that there are two things it could be. 1) Lack of faith or 2) believing that we are more in control of our situation than we think (instead of relying on God).

Lord, remind me of my place and your promise. Remind me in the chaos of life that you stay true, and when things seem false and I lose sight that I can always see you. Amen.
