Economic Famine - Mark

Genesis 45:4-7
"I am Joseph your brother whom you sold into Egypt. But don't feel badly, don't blame yourselves for selling me. God was behind it. God sent me here ahead of you to save lives. There has been a famine in the land now for two years; the famine will continue for five more years—neither plowing nor harvesting. God sent me on ahead to pave the way and make sure there was a remnant in the land, to save your lives in an amazing act of deliverance. So you see, it wasn't you who sent me here but God.

When Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, they were filled with jealousy and hate. What they had done in sin, God used for good. In fact, Joseph's dreams from God pushed them over the edge.

Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Genesis 45 is a reminder to me that God knows every sinful thing that we have done, and he knows every evil thing that as been done to us. I am constantly amazed that he can sew our tragedies into a testimony of His glory.

How will God use our Economic Famine to fulfill His purposes in my life?
